The second chapter of the book Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom is titled “The Syllabus”. Maybe I didn’t want him to forget me.” (4). After giving Morrie a gift, Albom writes, “I didn’t want to forget him. ![]() This is where we get introduced for the first time to the healthy Morrie, who was his favorite professor at Brandeis University. The chapter also includes an anecdote told by Mitch, about his college graduation. He talks about how the class was held in Morrie’s study, where Albom writes, “he could watch a small hibiscus plant shed its pink leaves.” (1). He says the subject of the class was “The Meaning of Life”. It foreshadows some of the lessons he will learn, like love, family, forgiveness, and death. Morrie was the teacher, and Mitch Albom, the author and narrator, was the only student. Albom gives a general description of his visits to Morrie, comparing them to a school setting.
